APD: Play and Force

Theme: Play and Force

After our discussion in class, I began to think about images and objects of force.

I went into the street and started taking photos and filming. Suddenly I come across a buscker playing the spoons. I asked him if I could film him if I gave him some money which he was more than happy.

Method:

Stop motion filming, sound recording and editing.

Context:

Once I had finished recording I began to think about Norman Mclaerens Pixelation films, style and his unique characters.   https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4YAYGi8rQag  

Response:

I found how the use of timing and the force of his hands, body and legs with the spoons were pivotal to the different sounds. As well I also recorded the sound on a different app and frame rate. So editing the film all on my phone and trying to get the feel of that Norman Mclaren style was very enjoyable and rewarding.
