Refined my animation for the ghost story of Oiwa, based on feedback from Kate during my consultation meeting with her. Original draft animation can be found here: http://magistudio.net/work/animation-draft-ghost-story-oiwa-studio-1-weeks-5-7
Fixes include:
- Keep the overall animation blurry and vague (less is more)
- Have the man in front less detailed - a simple silhouette will do
- Have the man disintegrate / burn into the lantern
- Play around with the eye and mouth shapes to make them look more like holes in the lantern
I found that I've got much better control of After Effects after refining this animation the second time round. I'm feeling less scared of the tool, and more willing to seek solutions myself via online tutorials. The animation still isn't perfect, but it's getting there!
