story: On Christmas Eve, moonlight envelops the city. The vampire brother staring at the crescent moon. At this time vampire sister comes over and asks: "Brother, do you also come to bask in the sun?" The elder brother says, "Yes, the sunshine is dim, but it is beautiful." The sister says, "But I saw a book outside. It said that the sun is round and red as fire. It brings warmth and happiness. Everyone loves the sun." The older brother looks surprised and said, "How is this possible? Isn't the sun bent and yellow?" The sister considers for a moment and says, "It's not bedtime yet. We should go and look for the real sun now. "
They find the blood in the goblet, and the brother says, "Although it is red and can give us warmth and happiness, it is not round. "
The younger sister sees the apple on the table, brother says, "Although it's round and red, it's cold, and I don't like eating apples. "
The brother and sister search for a long time but finds nothing to their satisfaction. Suddenly a voice comes from the chimney, "Ouch!" They to see what was happening, and a fatty Santa comes out in surprise, rubbing his hips. "How can there still be children wake now! It's time for sleep, kids!"
The elder brother and sister look the Santa carefully. The elder brother says: "Round... Red, red... ". He runs and hugs the Santa. "And he's warm! I love him! "The sister also hugs the Santa:" That is true! So warm! "
The brother and sister say in unison: "Santa is the sun! "

This week, I explored Lu Zhang's idea of pale children and wrote a story about vampires. I focused on the interaction and dialogue between the characters. In previous exercises, I tried to avoid too much dialogue, but this time I chose to have a lot of dialogue to help the audience understand the story. Because the dialogue goes against our common sense, the audience can recognise the difference of the characters. This kind of dialogue is not only intended to explain the particularity of the role, but to let the audience think about how might situation reveal a subtext to the dialogue. It is a feeling that looks ridiculous but is normal for the role, which creates a humorous atmosphere. Originally I wanted the story to be heroic and epic, with vampires getting burned while exploring the real sun, but I wanted to express something joyful and reversed in words. So it became a comedy finally.
In the stop motion animation, THE MARCEL SHELL WITH SHOES ON, TWO (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ta9K22D0o5Q), the character also has a large number of monologues. The character with uniquely shaped only has legs but no hands, making it difficult to tell a story through movement. Through the language, the character seems to communicate with the audience, and the audience can also learn about the optimistic personality of the character.
Through this week's practice, I tried to focus on the dialogue and make the dialogue tells some important information. I realised that dialogue can connect the story with the sound and express some narrative or character characteristics more directly and concisely.
