Story
In the forest, there is a nightingale singing to the moon. The louder the nightingale sings, the bigger and brighter the moon will be. But one day, a hunter moved into the forest to live. He hunted the animals in the forest recklessly. One night, he was awakened by the nightingale's singing, so he shot the nightingale in anger. After the forest lost the moonlight, the beasts began to run wild. The hunter couldn't find his way out of the forest in the dark. He was extremely regretful at what he had done before when beasts besieged him.
Reflection
This week's theme is light. One of the premises I put forward is that "the louder the bird sings, the moon becomes brighter". This story represents that being selfish and disregarding the feelings of others may result in a corresponding price for your actions. I also created a simple storyboard for this story. I set yellow and purple as the primary colours to balance the picture.
Similar work is "light collector" <https://b23.tv/Glaid7W> created by Zane Zheng. This animation tells the story of a man who uses a bottle to collect light and bring it back to the forest to resurrect the trees. In the last scene, each little light spreads in the whole forest and looks like the stars in the night, representing beauty and hope.
Through this week's study, I have a deeper understanding of light and shadow in animation. Cool and warm light can interpret the different moods and atmospheres of a story. The brightness of the light can also express time and environment.
