Week 9
Weekly Progress Post.
What I have been doing this week:
This week I have undertaken the production work of my folio. I began producing models and I have finished with the modelling portion that I started this week. I have even created some materials for my models. This week I have indulged a lot in production of models and their layout and materials.
Before jumping towards the creation of models and materials, I have even researched about existing actual environments. For instance I studied actual beach photographs before creating the environment of a beach. I looked and studied each of the images carefully to create my actual model to give it a realistic look and appeal.
I have been working on the models, materials and layouts as they are going to be the main portion of my game and is very important.
Just like the previous weeks, this week too, I have been learning unity as I am very new to the software and I need to learn a lot of concepts.
Furthermore, I studied and researched about existing works in the field and the creators of these works to enhance my knowledge of the works in the field and also to expose myself to new concepts. I created a “Related Work Post” to the MAGI website this week. The post have 3 of my favourite works that I researched about.

Here is the impact of feedback and research I felt happened over this week:
Over the last week, I had been researching and studying in a very vast manner. This week I specifically researched about the games which have excellent sound design in them because my game concept also has sound. Researching has always been very helpful to me because it helps me extend my knowledge and at the same time it helps me know about the ongoing trends in the industry. It also gives rise to new questions that I ask myself and try to find answers to and I also ask these questions to my peers and mentors. These questions in turn help me get more clarity towards work. I also have received feedback from my peers and mentors this week. The feedback I receive helps me improve and enhance my work as well as refine it. I had received feedback from my peers and mentors about using unity and about the style of working. I had planned making multiple environment models earlier. But after the feedback I received from my mentors, I decided to work on a few environments completely and properly first and then move on to create and work on more environments. This guidance has been extremely helpful to me as it has eased my way of working and has given me more time to work on my concepts.
What I am going to do next week:
Over the next week, I am going to:
Start: Next week, I am going to start with working with the materials on my models and arranging the models one final time. Also, I am going to work with light and sound design over the next week.
Stop: Next week, I am going to stop with the construction of new 3d environments and focus more on the overall look, materials, lights and sounds.
Continue: Next week, I am going to continue with my weekly research as it has always been one of the key elements of my work. I am also going to seek feedback from my peers and mentors as before as they always have great tips for making my work even better. I will also keep learning unity as I go because learning never stops.
