Here is my folio plan for Studio 1, Folio 2.
RATIONALE: Intention
For Studio 1, folio 2, I have decided to work upon the game concept that I had created for folio 1. I want to enhance the project and bring it to life. For folio 2, I want to:
CONTEXT: Field
The concept that I want to work on sits mainly in the field of game development and design. There are many existing practitioners in this field about whom I have researched and read about. They are Sid Meier, John Carmack, Chris Sawyer and many more.
METHOD: Conceptual, Technical, Craft and Management
The work I do weekly in the studio will support my intention as I wish to create a full game out of my concept and weekly studio work will help me to reach my goals and target. I will also come up with a detailed weekly layout and output of the work to the MAGI site to provide a clearer understanding of my concept and work progression. This will also make my intention and weekly work clearer. I plan to work initially with the models, from the base again and then move further to Unity, then to sound design and in the end, to After Effects to compile everything.
PRODUCTION: Tools
As I am new to game design and development, I am going to start with the basics of game design. For creating this project, I have to learn Unity and some scripting too. The models are created in Maya. I want to create the character profiles and clothing in Maya and use Substance Painter for texturing and lighting. I will also have to create more models of various objects and enhance the existing ones. After doing all edits and taking the model to unity, I will engage in the processes required to create the game. I will work further or scripting and creation of the game. I will also have to work with the sound concept. In the end, I would also like to compile everything in After Effects and work on a narrated storyline walkthrough of the game.
