Something that I discussed in my consult was the value that my still paintings had towards my practice in animation, and Kate and I talked about how these still images could contain subtle movements and animations
to respond to this idea, I took a drawing I had just started working on and decided to just add two frames of animation to it.
for this character, inspired by an Instagram popular cosplayer (@tokyomunchkin) I decided to make her wiggle her hips in a dance. Something that I think works well here is how I managed to change her upper body as well as her lower body to make her movement more natural. Originally I was just doing her hips, and she looked stiff and unnatural
im also happy with the detail that I have used. This is the cleanest animation I have done so far, but it being aesthetically clean took a long time compared to my sketchier animations.
something I want to do further in this is take a character, give them a dynamic action or movement and then build up their detail and personality.
