This work examines idea of Movement. In the class, we learnt how to use the relationship between camera and objects to tell a story. The shots, framing, and scenes are the keys to the movement, by making good use of them we can create dramatic and beautiful movements in our works.
I am using the following precise, ’Everything seems to slow down when the spacecraft is about to bump into a wormhole. After the spaceship flashed by, time instantly changed back to what it was supposed to be.’ The story uses shadow tentacles as an anthropomorphism of physics and gravity, time can be changed by the speed of the spacecraft and its proximity to a wormhole. In the process of chasing, the two are caught in a high-speed race. The relative speed changes and then affects the somatosensory time perception.
This story is going to sit in the field of 2D animation. I think the abstract and free form of 2D animation is a good way to show the distortion of time and space. In the work, the technique of fast and slow is used to create speed contrast. In addition, the deformation of the object can not only show the time change, but also show the Squash and stretch in the twelve rules of animation.
This work is related to the week 9 watching resources " Satoshi Kon - Editing Space & Time" by “Every Frame a Painting “. In the film it shows how to present time by many different methods, one of them saying compared to live-action movies that Kon makes the audience understand the plots swiftly by drawing less information in every frame, which is what I am trying to approach in my work.
By examining " Satoshi Kon - Editing Space & Time" , I reflected that time can be used in numerous way and applied in 2D animation clip of my work, especially transition of matching images. This approach can in terms of giving me a variety of storyboards, making the animation more interesting.
