The research topic for week 5 is the visual design of characters. I've chosen Character drawings as the tool to represent this theme.

It no doubts that a character's appearance is important for animation. Audiences can gain a foundation first impression when they see the character for the first time. So, one of my goals in designing the appearance of these characters is to let the audience get the right feeling about that character. Such as getting a positive impression of a hero and a negative impression of a villain. Moreover, exaggeration also is a method that can apply to character design. This makes the animation intersection more alive. Also, the shape of the character silhouette, angles represent aggressiveness, circles represent prudence. Overall, the character's appearance design is for the audience to get a better viewing experience.

Overall reflection1:

The first is the iteration designed for the story. I think I can add more plots to the plot and make the plot more intertwined and complex. And learning to use a story beat might make the structure of the story more intuitive to the producer.

Overall reflection2:

The iteration of the second point is for character design. My character design should add more decorative details to make the character's background and experience more specific.
