I made a Short Scene based on my Premise exercise. This short scene is mainly to show a concept VR somatosensory game I thought about in the Premise exercise. The player can jump, support the wall, swing the knife, handle or avoid the obstacles encountered, the character in the game will keep running forward, and when the sensor collects the player's movement, the game character will take appropriate action.
Premise exercise:
Master Ninja runs and jumps from one eave to another at high speed on the eaves. From time to time, monsters appear out of thin air. If a monster appears in the sky, the ninja will throw darts. If a monster appears in front of you, the ninja will pull out his waist knife. Nothing can stop the speed of the ninja.
Monsters chase ninjas when they appear, and fall down and lie on the road when they are hit by ninjas. The ninja will continue to move forward.
Movement through time and space is a very dynamic state because everything around is constantly changing. My first thought when I saw this theme was to run. So I came up with the idea of a ninja flying over walls and running in the Premise exercise. I used the blender to make a simple mannequin and made him run on the wall and over obstacles, I wanted to use images like this to show the concept of this game.
Beatsaber is a vr game. The gameplay is that the player holds two lightsabers and slashes the small squares flying towards the player with the rhythm (Lerdigital, n.d.). Players will be full of energy and rhythm when playing this game. That feeling is the same as moving through time and space. I can think that the game concept of Ninja Run is also influenced by this game. All of them can bring players an experience of movement and vitality. It fits the theme of movement through time and space very well. Here is the link to the game website: https://www.beatsaber.com/
If this game is developed in the future, I hope that the scenes and characters can contain more Japanese ninja elements. In addition to the gameplay, I think it is more important to make this game also have his storytelling. So the next step in development was to build his story for the concept.
