This work explains the basic concepts of the animation that I want to make for my folio 2.
I drew a quick mind map to conclude the aims of the animation and details of the protagonist. I think summarizing these essentials can help the production stick to the subject and avoid going too wild. I also wrote a list of bullet points, starting from my animation's expected ending and brainstorming in reverse order. I enjoy using this uncommon thinking method comparing to our thinking way in real life. Although I already had a comprehensive narrative in my mind before I wrote these points, I found other inspirations through the experience. I think these concepts will be interesting to see as an opening animation for my game, as it's telling a sad experience of the protagonist to bring a very poor impression, which will have a surprising and complete reversal in the end of my game. And the end of the animation is mysterious and indicates the environment of the game. In response to this week’s theme of time, my narrative will stick to a linear way but with time skips because I only want to include big events and clues.
This animation is similar to Paul Allen Tillery IV's work, whose animation tells a tale of the growing history of a thunder cluck, and it also has an open ending. (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WyPvRrRxLzo)
This week, I took most of my time thinking about the topic I want to continue with my folio 2. Then I thought it might be good to make a preface animation for my game in AGI studio I. Although I picked the main idea from the studio, it was also surprising that after I tried new methods of mindmap and bullet points, I could organize it more clearly and even come up with new ideas.
