Master Of Animation, Games & Interactivity

In this week, I was mainly developing the character controller for my folio 2 project. I have built a movement system with a first-person camera, a gunshot ability to damage enemies and a bullet reload function for player to interact. The major benefit of using a first-person camera in this project is immersion. The player is easy to get an experience that they are actually in the scene of game. It is popular to use a first-person camera in horror games and shooting games. The video games Resident Evil and Outlast are the two games that I have looked at and studied. The first-person camera in these two games is contributing very successful about building a horror gameplay experience.

Movement system: Player is able to move by pressing W, A, S, D on the keyboard.

First-person camera: Move with player, rotated by mouse, shake camera when player is attacked by zombies.

Gunshot & bullet reload system: Press left mouse click, cost bullets to shoot. Move close to bullets in the level to automatically pick up and reload bullets.
