Week 6 Reflection

For this week’s work. I created a flow chart with the premise I made. This week we looked into dialogue to express the character’s actions. The premise for this flow chart goes like this:

- Dark rainy night and lights are off everywhere. I am over at my cousin’s place in his room.

- I am working on my PC and I hear a voice upstairs.

- I hear my mother’s voice upstairs calling me “It’s dinner time”

- I go upstairs for food as I am starving.

- Then I remember that my mother isn’t home as she is going out grocery shopping. I halt with fear.

- I heard stories from other people in my family that this place is haunted by ghosts who are children.

- I run away from my cousin’s place and back to my place in my room where it's safe.

The flowchart is shown below. I explained the story of the haunted house in a form of a mindmap. This is based on true events according to someone else who experienced it. The mindmap explains certain events I have experienced and what stories I heard from others, along with a possible explanation of why that happened.

Sadly for this week, there is no example for this work as this was purely based on my experience which happened years ago (somewhere around 2018) and I created a short story by using this week’s premise theme.

This week’s idea was a tough one as I was having a hard time expressing actions through dialogues. My story went through three revisions before I settled on the one shown above. Even this is not as good and I initially wanted to showcase this idea in a form of an interactive piece but due to the lack of content in the story, I couldn’t bring the idea forward into a game.
