This work is based on externalization in character design through character’s performance and dialogue. This week I chose two dialogue from wiki below:
1. A child was heard asking his mother a question at the zoo. ‘If the tiger gets out, will it eat us?’
2. "I will never work in my life."
By drawing thumbnails for each bullet points created by our group, specific imagery and story can be described in scenes, character’s movements. And I am able to show character’s facial expression when they are talking.
Similar idea is mentioned in Understanding Comics : the Invisible Art. New York :HarperPerennial by McCloud. It shows the powers of pictures and words to tell stories when it’s a combination.
In the beginning of my drawing process, I randomly drew a scene in my imagination, but some objects are unnecessary and even may transfer the focus. I bieleve everything in the picture should be rational to be there, character’s expressions and movements should be suitable to their characteristic.
