This work practices the idea of story structure, specifically on the Syd’s field 3 acts structure (https://www.studiobinder.com/blog/three-act-structure/) to build a coherent story. I explore the execution of the structure through developing a 3 points story premise by adding beats or turns in story that helps to create a cohesive story. By reviewing my initial story examination, I was able to see more clearly that the story beats added is not properly coherent yet and is missing a deeper meaning. I further refined the story, redefined the beginning, gave supporting context for the setup, as well as the ending. After doing so, the beginning of the story interacts better with the confrontation part, as it became clearer to why the Sun decided to help (its heating ability). The ending is developed into a sad ending and a lesson is added for the story to possess a deeper meaning. The whole story theme is inspired by the famous story of The Hare and the Tortoise (https://read.gov/aesop/025.html), which has a meaningful lesson about perseverance and not to give up, and is also built upon a 3-act structure. Through executing this work, I reflected that story structure and theme/lesson are vital in creating a successful story, which pushes me further to keep refining the story and changing the ending.
