In this class, we used the three Act structure to set the story. In this class,  We used the narrative mode of Three Act Stucuture to set the story.

My three act structure in class is as follows:

  • A factory that makes turkeys and quills

  • Quill wants to find his girlfriend (Another Feather, Sent far away)

  • Quill discusses escape plans with a Turkey on Thanksgiving

Based on Kate's feedback, I also think these three points are a bit of a logical dislocation. So I reset my story.

  • The turkey was plucked by a worker.

  • Feather is separated from his girlfriend.

  • A worker is making a quill pen.

  • The feather made into a quill kicked the spitball on the table at the Turkey.

  • Feather plans his escape with his girlfriend and Turkey.

  • The turkey attached the quill. The quill was hidden in the Turkey

  • The turkey tried to fly through the net and was shot with an arrow

  • turkeys faint and feathers fly over barbed wire

  • The quill and his girlfriend fluttered into the pockets of passer-by

In a turkey farm.  A workman plucked one of the most beautiful feathers of a turkey.  The feather was separated from his girlfriend.  The plucked feathers were forced into quills.  Quill hits the Turkey on the desk with paper to try to get the bird's attention.  Feather discusses his escape plan with his girlfriend and Turkey Factories need large numbers of turkeys on Thanksgiving Day, and the birds take advantage of the chaos to escape.  turkey was caught trying to fly through the iron net.  The turkey flapped its wings so hard that the quill floated over the wire.  The quill and feather ended up in a passer-by's pocket.

This article recommend reading this week "What is a story beat." https://www.studiobinder.com/blog/story-beat-in-screenplay/

I remember when I was watching movies, I used to guess what would happen next.  In some movies you can guess the end just by looking at the beginning.  This strikes me as too tame.  The stories that interest me usually have a twist.  As the article says "when a character is' backstabbed '".  This is the key to keeping the audience interested and adding to the story.

Then I thought about the story endings I had made this week.I was wondering whether people prefer tragedy or comedy. In my opinion, many of the world's famous literature and movies are based on tragedy. For example, one of my favorite movies is "The Legend of 1900" and “Titanic.” Nineteen hundred did not disembark at the end. And Jack's death made me remember these two movies very deeply.Pain is always more memorable than pleasure.

Then I looked up some information.  The memory strength of positive emotions was slightly higher than that of negative emotions.  Both are higher than neutral memory emotion.  But positive emotions had lower reliability (accuracy). With Sadness Comes Accuracy;  With Happiness, False Memory.(As shown in figure 2)

So I ended up with a story where the Turkey got caught.   Feather and his girlfriend escape the factory temporarily.   But what happens next is anyone's guess.
