This work showed the theme of dream. I draw a picture on iPad via Procreate. In addition, there are some different dreams, and a man(or creature) is entering his dream by climbing a ladder. By showing this picture and bullet pionts, I want to explore the process of how dreams are produced and how people(or other creatures) walking into their own dreams.
A similar work is PUPARIA (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CWnqX41JHuM ), an animated short film by Shingo Tamagawa. The work conveys the same theme by showing a series of beautiful unreal scenes. There are also some similar works, such as Bad Dream produced by a student in CK animation school in 2017(https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cvgl8StjsYc).
However, through the research and investigation of color matching, I found that I still have shortcomings in color matching. The color display of my work is not aesthetic, which greatly affects the effect of the final work. I will collect some color swatches and books in the future to improve my matching skills.
What’s more, by watching Vonnegut’s map of storylines, I reflected the important of the curve of a storyline. Thinking through it, if there is a conflict or the expression of more emotion in my work, it will be more dramatic and personalized.
