This week we discussed how to externalize the character's inner world from the perspective of the character. This process is called "external management of the internal state (EMIS)".

This week I chose the theme that kiwi fruit will become Kiwi bird. At the beginning, I wanted to create a kiwi that turned into a kiwi at night to escape the clutches of mankind in order to protect itself. I want to complete the story through a series of adventures and escapes of Kiwi birds. I want to create some lovely little heroes by exploring the different brave characters and small bodies of Kiwi birds.

Earliest version

Kiwifruit turns into kiwi on the night of lunar eclipse

They don't want to be eaten, so make sure they don't mature and be eaten by humans before eclipse night.  Most kiwifruit are unfortunate.  There are only a few kiwifruit.  They will secretly try to grow legs on the dark night of the lunar eclipse, and then run away quickly.

I think kiwis believe in dark magic because the sun always speeds up their growth and makes them easy for humans to eat.  They thought the darkness would give them strength on the night of the eclipse.  When it was dark, they could do many things secretly, but the night with the moon was too bright, and the moon was like the sun at night.  Moonless dark night, probably not only them, there are many elves in the lurking.  They had to disguise themselves in the form of the animal that most closely resembled them, the Kiwi.  Maybe when people in New Zealand get up and see one kiwi missing from last night's table, there's a kiwi bird on the grass.

My work is inspired by The Cat Returns. It is an animated film launched by Ghibli studio in 2002. The story tells that the heroine was forced to be brought to the cat kingdom because she saved the prince of the cat kingdom. The heroine was turned into a cat and forced to marry the cat king. Although the heroine and the protagonist group have become small cats, they still struggle with the soldiers of the cat Kingdom and insist on returning to the human world.

This overhead story background makes me re-examine my story. I think I can create a hero image of Kiwi bird with more distinctive character. Compared with the group image story, the image of a single person will be more prominent.

So I changed my story:

The kiwi warrior, with its long sword turned from its mouth, fought with the enemy to protect his country.

In the distant Kiwi Kingdom, there is a frightening legend that if the door is not locked at night, it will be caught and eaten by a furry animal with big ears and long tail. But the elders said the sacrifice was necessary.

On the day Lila was born, she witnessed the huge monster slowly passing by the window for a few days. She will never forget the oppressive scene. She managed to grow into an adult Kiwi with a strong sense of justice. She worked hard to protect the vulnerable Kiwi gate from harm. But no one has ever seen her true face. She always appears at night to protect the kiwi children wandering outside. All we know is that this hero is a warrior who never shows his face and holds a long sword.

On a dark, windy night, the long lost monster appeared. It was a big cat. It looked fat, bulky, drooling, greedy and hateful. The kiwi family hid in the corner, shivering. The big cat approached gradually, and its saliva fell on the ground, raising dust. The kiwi birds closed their eyes and waited for the judgment of fate. However, they felt a breeze on their faces. It's a warrior! Her long hair floated in the wind and her sword glittered. A desperate struggle is about to begin.

The warrior waved his sword and hit the cat in the eye. After years of research, she learned that eyes are the weakness of big cats. But the big cat is very flexible, which is not suitable for its fat body. The big cat's flutter was full of strength, and its claws flapped back and forth, as if playing with the weak warrior. The warrior took the opportunity to stab his sword into its arrogant claw. The big cat gave a wail, frowned and made a terrible sound. The warrior jumped up with his long sparkling hair like the moonlight in the night.

The fierce fight lasted for a long time. The warrior stood weakly on the ground, and the big cat was panting. Is this the decisive moment? The warrior tried to pick up his sword and rushed forward. The panting cat may be really too fat, and its strength is not enough to support its body. It is becoming more and more bulky. It may have realized this and turned back to run away. But the warrior's sword plunged heavily into his ass, and it almost flew up in pain. The big cat ran away quickly and disappeared into the long night.

The warrior turned around. The moonlight slowly spread on her face, and she put her long sword back on her mouth. It suddenly dawned on everyone that it was the brave Lyra.

Since then, the village has spread a legend that kiwi warriors defeated monsters. Kiwis are no longer just victims. They have an army. They also learn to protect themselves with their sharp mouths.

This story tells some very common truth. Sometimes, the best way to solve problems is yourself. When you encounter difficulties, don't forget to make effective use of your own advantages, try to struggle, and don't give up
