Week 2
I am reposting this work to the MAGI site to improve and enhance the annotation.
This week, I have worked on the premise, “What If Dreams predicted the schedule for the next day?”
THEME
This work examines the idea of depicting a conflict or contradiction. This week I have worked on “What If” which deals with the notions and things which are not happening naturally in the world, or something that is unusual or magical. The theme deals with the situations not happening normally in our day to day lives.
MEDIUM
To explore the theme, I have created a mind map, a character design of the main character, a storyline, a flowchart and a short outline of the story. These mediums help me analyze and work upon the statement premise that I chose for the week which is, “what If dreams predicted the schedule for the next day?” As it is evident that this statement is non-existing and is imaginary, these mediums help me explore the unknown world and step up the viewer/reader’s Imagination of what could happen if suddenly our dreams started depicting our schedules for the next day. To depict and convey my ideas clearly to the reader/viewer, I went with the basic pen-paper
REFERENCES
Before creating my work, I did extensive research on various people working on similar concepts in order to shape my own ideas. Before creating my base for doing the work, I got deeply inspired by a painting that I came across recently while researching. The painting is called “The Nightmare”. It is a beautiful piece of art by Henry Fuseli in the year 1781. The painting is very powerful in terms of the demonstration of a dream (a nightmare) and leaves a deep impression on the mind of an onlooker and on a person who studies the painting. This painting led me to the thinking of what would happen if dreams started predicting what happens with us the next day!!
IMPACT OF PRACTICE, RESEARCH, FEEDBACK AND REFLECTION
Regular class discussions with my mentors and feedback by my friends coupled by research about the subject I wanted to work upon gave me a broader mindset and horizon to work upon. Regular feedback enables us to reflect upon our own work!!
