For this week’s work, I created a mind map. The theme for this week is Time once again. But I dived into this idea even further but with a different premise. The premise is a premise that I created as shown below:
- A Timelapse of a city going into ruins, we can hear people but we can’t see them
I created the mindmap shown below, this is a similar concept as the theme for time but I took a step further to gamify the idea and make it into an interactive piece.
The mindmap about city timelapse is similar to this cinematic trailer (Ubisoft, 2014). It's a game cinematic trailer for Tom Clancy Division. I talk about the post-apocalyptic war in a city where everything is in ruins. It is a bit relatable to the current situation with wars going around in the world.
As shown in the diagram, this theme gave me an idea of how I can turn this into a game. And some of the ideas are:
- Creating a puzzle game where you have to solve certain levels by going back and forth in time, but with changing time, a certain part of the levels is inaccessible.
- Another idea I thought of is talking about history but it's interactive, you get to move back in time and experience certain events. Or move forward in time and experience how the event would occur if we kept following the path we are on (such as constant destruction of the planet by deforestation, littering, etc).
- One more was trivia questions (such as questions and answers) but you get to explore the time by rewinding or forwarding time.
These ideas can aid people who want to seek information but aren’t fond of researching them. This takes research in a fun way as not only do you get to learn something but you also get to learn it in a fun way. This could be used in VR or AR as in both you get to move around in your play space.
