In this week we were able to repeat what we learned in the past weeks and use what we learned in the way we wanted without a theme this week. It was great to have an overview of all the weeks and work on it. We critiqued and analyzed the work we did in the other weeks. It helped us learn the other weeks better.
Based on what we learned in this lesson, I used the premiese that i came up with "everyone has to send their happy memories to the state at the end of the each day with the help of the machine in their house". In the world I have created, the characters have to transfer their happy memories to the state at a common hour every day with the help of a machine. The state takes these happy memories because it can use people as it wishes. Someone who has never tasted happiness does not desire it. This is the easiest way to use people. Everyone lives a normal life and throughout their lives they don't even know what happiness is. Because happiness is taken from them every day. They have come to a point where they would rather not be happy than experience this thing.
The "Un tour de manège" I watched this week caught my attention. It was telling about life itself in such a colorful and meaningful production. When the girl is separated from her mother, she is still a child, but as time progresses, she gets into the chaos of the world. Before she can decide what to do, where she wants to go, she grows up and falls in love. Then she experiences the pain of separation and grows old. She dies soon after and returns to her mother as a child. Animation describes the cycle of life so well that people can catch the meaning of the animation at the very first moment. It was a very good example of storytelling. And I would definitely like to use this kind of fluent narrative in my own work.
