Master Of Animation, Games & Interactivity

This week I explored a new idea.

First of all, my original idea was to use a four-frame cartoon to tell a tricky story between friends. I usually draw scenes and blank dialogs first, and edit the dialogs at the end. When I finished the scenes and looked at the blank dialogs, a great idea came to my mind: What if I don’t add the exact content of the dialog? It can be anything.

It will give the audience room for imagination, allowing the audience to freely decide the development and ending of the story. In addition, the relationship between these two characters is also diverse. For example, some people may think of them as a couple, while others think that they may be colleagues, parent and child, etc. Different relationships will produce different dialogue themes and character personalities.

Similarly, the location of the story is also diverse. Different places and different characters together produce a unique story.

For example, If they are colleagues and the story takes place in the company, the conversation may be

-"Do you want me to help you get a cup of coffee?"

- "Great, thank you!"

-"Just ask, go get it yourself."

Or a naughty student and his classmates

-"Hey Jennifer, how are you?"

-"Not bad...actually my name is Ada."

-"Really, this is a good name, Jennifer."

Similar work is game Detroit: Become Human. This work Let players choose different dialogue options to determine the end of it.

In addition, by reflecting on the interactivity of the work, I think that this work can be transformed into an interactive installation. Perhaps some dialog boxes with different sentences can be made and allow the audience to combine them freely.
