The topic of this week is Light. This week we learned about the correct use of light and what effect it can have on an animation. The use of light in any work of art can really make that work better. Light can bring fear or calmness to a scene or a character. We can even tell if a character is good or bad by the color or reflection of the light.
Based on what I learned in this lesson, I used the premiese that I came up with, "A floating light moved as she approached the light." This came to my mind as a game idea. A being of light exists to guide the character. But besides that, the color of the light of this guide character will change according to the surrounding danger. If there are evil creatures around, the color of this light becomes red. In calmer environments, its color will be blue.
The Slow Wave animation impressed me a lot because it was so different. The use of both light and movement was very successful. They used the light very successfully to reflect the scene transitions or to show the emotion of the scene. The red light indicates the dreamer's transition into a nightmare. And also the thing that chases him in the nightmare is red. And blue is used to show calmness. A very nice animation on how to use light correctly.
