In the eleventh week, I compiled my current thoughts and materials.
By using procreate, I drew a comic and used it as the scene of my animation. I plan to make it into a dynamic comic, and the camera will imitate the reader's line of sight to move between each small scene of the comic.
I plan to choose an object as the medium for scene transition and use it to link the two scenes. I plan to choose an object to connect two scenes. For example, the main character in the first part of the animation is a baseball. And the ball will fly over the stadium, the earth, and finally to the moon.
Rocket is used as the protagonist of the second part of my animation. In this scene, the rocket will be launched into the air. After my production was completed, I found that the picture lacked explosive power, and the rocket only moved up simply. In order to better express the explosion of the rocket when it is launched, I compressed and deformed the rocket in Ae. Now the rocket looks round, as if it is full of explosives, and it may explode at any time.
In addition, I found and watched some rocket launch videos on the Internet. Through observation, I found that the huge energy of rocket launch will shake the camera. So I also added this detail to my animation. When the rocket rose, I lengthened the rocket, making it slim and long. I want to reflect the speed of the rocket in this way. At the same time, the camera will follow the rocket to move to the top scene of the comic.
In the third part (also the top part) of the animation, I want to add some absurd and funny elements. For example, before landing on the moon, the rocket will move around the moon several times. However, after consulting the knowledge of astrophysics, I learned that before landing, the rocket will orbit the moon and gradually approach the moon, and finally free fall to the surface of the moon. So, the rocket motion I designed is actually in line with physics. In order to distinguish it from the normal situation, I changed to let the rocket land with its head inserted into the moon instead of landing in the normal way. In addition, in order to increase the sense of space, the rocket will continue to shrink, showing that the moon is far away from us.
At the end of the animation, there will be a zoom lens so that the audience can see the complete image. A similar work is animation Three Monks produced by Shanghai Animation Film Studio. It refers to traditional Chinese ink painting, combining Western expression techniques with Chinese style. I got a lot of drawing inspiration from this work.
By examining Chinese Brush Painting, I reflected the idea of redrawing an ink painting style comic.
