This work examines the idea of a premise WIKI: “A secret lizard agent is fighting against a cockroach in a drawer.” After examining the concept and its potential outcome, I have chosen to transform the scenery into a fighting game project with game UI design. By crafting the drawer as the battleground, and designing UI that fits the fighting game genre, I have transferred the realistic scene – a dark, narrow, blurry concept of the drawer into an exciting and engaging battlefield for players. The characters in the game (Lizard secret agent and cockroach) are illustrated in a friendly way in order to draw the player’s attention and to fit more towards the style of the game.

As this is the first time for me to develop a game scenario and its UI design, I have looked through successful gaming titles in this genre, such as Mortal Kombat 11, Street Fighter series and Tekken series. After learning their design direction of the fighting game UI – a more energetic, expressive and simplified style, I have come up with a gaming UI as the weekly response for Animated Narrative Week 1.
