Animated Narratives - Week 1

Through learning on this week’s topic “What is a story” and writing wiki premise, I have developed a sketch for my wiki premise “A knight is training in the stone castle”.

In my sketch, I am trying to show a story that the kingdom is in danger of invasion, after responding the king’s summon, a knight is charging to a dummy to practise his battle skills in a stone castle. To produce this dynamic narrative, a character of knight, location of stone castle and action of training are forming as the key element of story.

The inspiration of idea is coming from video game Mount & Blade which provides a fantastic experience of playing roles of knight.

After reflecting this work, I would like to develop this scene further by building up an interactable game in game engine. This could be the best way to simulate a knight’s battle and provide a realistic experience.
