Animated Narratives Week 03 : structure and framing of narrative

This week your response will focus on structure and framing of narrative in our folio responses.

we focus on how to create and develop a story from an existing ending. Our group chosen the ending that “……And she devoured every last one of them.”

Based on this ending, our group create a horror story after discussion. A woman who went to an ice cream shop and ask the salesperson to but some toppings. The salesperson asked her favorite flavor and picked up for her to take away. When she got home and opened the freezer room, and it was full of human beings on display. She poured ice cream topping on the head of the last person in the room and said, “Dinner time.” And she devoured every last one of them.

For this story, I try to create a simple character design, the female cannibal character who seems cute and innocent, in order to create the contrast from the story.

By doing the character design, I got inspiration from the rabbit snowball from The secret life of Pets (Yarrow & Chris 2016). And the main colour I picked light blue and light yellow to make the softer feeling.

The software I used: Procreate.
