Folio 2 Plan
I’m planning to make a 3d interactable scene for a horror game as my second folio. This is a first-person horror game which starts in a building in a school at midnight. The player is going to explore in the scene, trying to survive from enemies and finally find a way to get out of the school.
Method
Unity game engine will be the main tool for me to develop this project. I’m going to use some assets including sounds, models and animations from unity assets store to develop this project in unity. The key technologies that I would like to practice in this project are sound effects, first-person camera controls, render effects and animation.
Production
Sound
This scene will have a horror background music. A 3D sound effect is going to be assigned to zombie enemies based on the distance between player and zombie enemies. The volume of sound is adjusted by distance and I am expecting the player to be mentioned that there is an enemy nearby before the player has observed it.
Camera
The camera will be attached to a first-person controller, move and rotate with the player. A camera shake effect will be made and active when the player is damaged by zombies.
Rendering Effect
I’m going to use high-definition render pipeline as the render pipeline in this project to improve the visual effects. I would like to have some rendering effects such as vignette, bloom and film gain.
Animation
I will download models and animations for my zombie character and develop these resources in unity. Animation clips are going to be created for these animations and be controlled to play by programming scripts.
Week 7 – Sound effects (Background music, Sounds for zombie)
Week 8 – Player controller (Movement, first-person camera, Gunshot & Bullets reload)
Week 9 – Build up level and environment, put player controller into the level
Week 10 – Set up light for level, improve visual effects for these lights
Week 11 – Develop AI and animations for zombie character
Week 12 – Finish the scene and fix bugs
