Master Of Animation, Games & Interactivity

This week we look deeper into movement. I found out that other than the characters movement, camera movement plays a huge role in creating a better movie immersiveness for the viewers.

In response to this week’s theme, I created a short animation imagining how the slime would move within the scene : https://youtu.be/Ssg5cateNQY . By animating the movement of the slime, I try to show more about the characteristics of the slime and its effects to the surrounding environment. Movement may carry specific objectives determined by the character and in animation, it acts as a narrative in an animated film. The movements shown are similar to one of the animated series, “That time I got reincarnated as a slime(2018)”. Through both research, I find that the movement and of the slime would be affecting the perspective of viewers. Taking in the animations of the film, I would like the viewer to be able to find the slime as a friendly and cute figure, not as an evil figure. Through feedback, I found that it would be better if the slime was a bouncy and squishy figure as it would make it more adorable and break out of the stereotypical image of a slimy and ugly slime.
