For this week’s work, I wrote bullet points and created thumbnails for a linear animation based on my premise of Week 3, “She went on to become the person who discovered a new world, full of mythical creatures”. The thumbnail lays out part of the plot of the story.
By using bullet points and thumbnails, I can create rapid sketches to plan out a scene for a storyboard. I can also use these sketches to explain my shots and story to other people. And I can also plan out a different version of the same shot, to see which one works the best. Because of this, there will be less error when it comes to storyboarding, in terms of direction, and we’ll waste less time.
I used the Storyboard Thumbnails link from the Canvas Module and various google images as a reference to create these thumbnails. From these links, I learned what the general practices in making thumbnails are and how to tell a story out of it.
