In Week 5, we looked into Character and how their external world reflects their internal state. I decided to create a storyboard for an animation that would showcase the topic well. The story is about a girl who is a goldfish and a guy who is a lotus, and they can never interact, even though they’re so close to each other.
By using the means of a storyboard, I was able to show my vision for the animation that includes the external state of the character effectively and concisely.
I was inspired by the anime Fruits Basket, and its concept of characters transforming into animals of the Chinese Zodiac. In my story instead of characters turning into the objects (goldfish and lotus), the objects are simply a representation of how the characters are separated and live in two different worlds that are close to each other but can never intersect.
