Today I will keep develop my storyboard to have more detailed ones. Better to think of a theme and make some vignettes rather than one short story. The shift was change from yesterday’s thumbnails and change them into small pieces that could have more detailed images to be animated in one scene.
How can I show a narrative in emotional atmospheric way using cinematography language for 2d animation?
Try to find some typical cinematography shots used in 2d animation and how they performed. Collect them and analyze.
I am now shifting a little bit on method that is not strict to motion graphics but also frame by frame for some scene that need movement. It might would be a combination of motion rigging and frame by frame.
For folio 1 there will be a completed storyboard and a test on animating. The storyboard should have at least 4 scenes which are detailed in space, character, landscape, and narrative.
It will be a 2d animation which use cinematography language to express the characters emotion and the landscape atmosphere.
My personal experience when I went to Mt Buller for skiing last year at this season.
Evoke the nature and human, beautifulness, using cinematography language in 2d animation.
Bring my personal experience into screening cinematographically. Suggesting that everyone’s life could become a story.
Emotions: Nervousness, scared, uncertain, loneliness, being left out.
Intended to show those emotions and the locational atmospheric spatial sense through my personal experience of the first-time skiing.
The outcome for these two weeks likely to be the final animatic, with related camera movement and perhaps add sound. In considering time framing, line works are difficult to make them clear, but could add some conceptual colours to give emotional ideas.
For folio 1, the storyboard and assets should be prepared for later animatic development.
For this stage, I am looking for the camera and 3d space built up in Toonboom Harmony.

It was fascinating me that Toonboom Harmony could do such 3d space in 2d and add camera movement to give the sense of dynamic space and character movement.
About layout in 2d animation via 2.5d camera movement:
I will then focus on storyboarding now and see how cinematography language can be applied for my personal experience 2d animation.
Storyboard first draft, I will be doing camera settings and background assets for the next step.
