Rationale: For a while I've been feeling like my visual novel's presentation is lacking. Seriously, the whole thing plays like a powerpoint presentation, so I've been investigating ways to make it feel... less like that.
Yesterday, Chris advised me to take a step back and remind myself of AGS's toolset. I agreed that this was a good idea, 'cause sketching on paper to inspire visual solutions can only get you so far. If I know what basic code I have to work with, then I can figure out how to combine it into weirder and more wonderful stuff.
Methods: Spent the day coding some very basic motion comic-y functions in Adventure Game Studio, and smashed them together with some old storyboards to create a prototype cutscene. Was not expecting to get this done so quickly, but there ya go.
Anywho, tomorrow I'm gonna see if I can code some basic interactions, and maybe toss together another prototype that involves them. Rinse and repeat! Iteration iteration iteration!
