Method: Spent the morning cleaning up my code and fixing a few of the things on my to-do list. ...However, as the day wore on, I found myself getting more and more frustrated with the technical stuff. Some of my ideas were obviously going to be too extravagant to carry out within the time frame, while other things I tried just... didn't work. After a quick talk with Matt and some reevaluation of what it is I was hoping to accomplish with this task, I decided to step back from working on the technical and instead polish and fully illustrate the scenes I already have.
Doing so has actually proved pretty useful so far, as literally going back to the drawing board gives me an excuse to experiment with non-rectangular panels/illustration styles.
Outcome: Bit of a slow work day today, but I've further iterated on the prototypes I've already started. Added in a few more "silly" interactions that, while unimportant to the story, might pleasantly surprise any player who tries a wrong solution to otherwise straightforward puzzles.
Also, started working on the graphics! Yeehaw! Hopefully I can get these all done by Friday. And if I can't, well. Hey. At least I'll know how much work these segments are, and thus a better production pipeline.
