Five Nights at Freddy’s has a similar camera control. The player has a limited view angle so they cannot look away from the danger. Also, instead of having a computer screen for the player to look at, the monitor shows up as an user interface  when the player press certain key, which I think breaks the immersion. A good example of an immersive user interface is Dead Space, the designer merge the user interface with the character’s outfit.

I also have some interesting ideas such as letting the player find another solution to explore the environment, that is, using a sphere to navigate.  The idea comes from the game Observation. In the game, the player have the option to explore the space station with a sphere. I think this idea is quite interesting because it provides an alternative way for the player to move/ get into some tight spaces on the station.
