This week i used more of the footage that my Taekwondo friend sent me to try a faster way of referencing action. Instead of rotoscoping every frame from the clip, this time i only traced over key frames and then filled in the inbetween frames without using the reference clip.
My intention for this object was to practice pose to pose and arcing, which I feel has been successful here. The pose to pose aspect was interesting because I had to scale down the document from 30fps to 15fps, so I had to guess how fast the action was moving to make it feel the most fluid
I also focused on using line of action in this sequence, which translates from my gesture drawing practice from last week
I also practiced tweening again in the 30 minute animation challenge. I need to focus on controlling ease in tweening to create nuanced movement that doesn't clash with the frame-by-frame handdrawn animation.
