Week 3

After the consultation with Matt, I decided to condense my narration and tried to show more visuals that are not in the narration. By condensing the narration, I pushed the main character's desperation and pain even more. Showing different visuals allows me to reveal more of the main character's relationship with the other island and his feeling of being trapped in it. I tried my best of doing simple sound design to it. I'm still confused as to what sound I should include in for flower blossoming and flower wilting. They are sound effects that I couldn't start to imagine.

I reviewed my storyboard again and added in some information about the morphing and the background. Hopefully, I could get some feedback to improve it. I am also worried that the appearance of coconut and vines would be too much. I think I would be reaching out for feedback for that as well!

I followed a series of Toon Shader tutorials made by Lightning Boy Studio on Youtube to learn how to create a node-based toon shader that reacts under three-point lighting. Although I might still have to tweak a few settings and maybe learn more about node-based toon shader in general, the style test I did already provided me with a satisfying result.

As for what I will work on next week, I am hoping to complete all character modellings (including shape key or rigging setting), adjust my animatic further or adding more information into the animatic drawing, test out the sea toon shader style, and check out how to create a flower blossom effect in Blender. In the meantime, I hope that I could still receive tons of feedback and advice to improve my work!
