Trauma Team is a visual novel style video game developed by Atlus, which follows the efforts of 6 medical professions carrying out medical procedures supported by an interlinked plot of a new virus.
I think the game’s main premise is that people working independently on their own jobs still affects other people and the overall situation. In a way every small step on the way matters, kind of like an extension of the Butterfly effect.
An interesting point about Trauma Team is that it has all its cutscenes is manga panels with simple and subtle animations rather than fully details frame to frame animations.
Although I believe the lack of a defined art style takes away from the aesthetics, it works well in mixing elements from different sources and cut the budget on unique animations. The fade out transition in particular seems to be used all the time
Another unique factor is its complex and varied mini-games, that range from searching for, to doing full on surgeries. The mini games and the score card that comes after it reminds me a bit of Danganronpa which is another game with visual novel elements that I discussed at length in a previous related work post
(Much thanks to Alvin for recommending me this game in his feedback for my WIP presentation)
