Week 8

I’ve modelled and rigged two water creatures this week. I also rigged a fish type creature. As I never learnt to rig before, I was using Youtube tutorials a lot in my process. There were multiple trials and errors before the final edition of my rig. I admit they are by no means perfect rig, but it’s working for me.

I also did a few bouncing test animation and connecting them with MASH to create a line of water creatures jumping together. It worked well. However, it didn’t give me perfect control to do some randomise jumps. I think it might have been my lack of understanding of MASH. Anyway, I animated them one by one at the end. I did use the MASH system in creating the firefly animation in the snippet though.

Moreover, I created an animation where the water droplet drops from a leaf. I played with the camera as well as the IK spline tool when animating the scene. It’s fun and I learnt quite a few tricks from the practice. I originally applied the DOF of Arnold of the camera, but it’s not creating the effect that I desire. Therefore, I used Z-depth at the end.

I will be doing more water creatures animation next week. I will also try to model and rig another seaweed creature. If I can, I will also do some animation tests with the seaweed creature as well.
