Week 5

For week 5, I decided to create a reaction shot and an animation combining my practice from last week with the ‘Lee’ character rig. It took longer than I expected to finish both practices, more than 6 hours for practice 1 and approximately 13 hours for practice 2. Although I used a lot of time to work on those shots, there are still flaws in the animation.

Reflection:

Practice 1:

  1. There was a huge gap between each key action when I first started blocking the video. I should have done a better job at planning.
  2. The magic wave shot is used to fill in the gap but it doesn’t really make sense with the animation. I’ll have to do backstory research and writing when I plan for my next shot.

Practice 2:

  1. The dive into the bubble could be smoother. The hair in the bubble is not working properly.
  2. It could have been better if the animation for the apples were done.
  3. The slightly lively walking at first of the animation could be exaggerated more.
  4. If I have more time, do the facial expression of the dive so that they’re more obvious.
  5. When in Shot B, the shoulder of the character should face towards the direction of her head.
