AGI - STUDIO 1 Week 2 Related Work Post

I. AUDRI PHILLIPS

This week I researched about Audri Phillips who is one of the existing practitioners in my chosen field of work. Audri Phillips is a 3d animator, digital artist and director and VR/AR Specialist. She is based in Los Angeles and started out as a painter. She is one of the leading practitioners of 3d animation and is working for about 20 years. She created animations for multi screen domes, dance performances, stereo projection and print. She has worked for leading studios in the world which include Sony ImageWorks, Digital Domain, Dreamworks Feature animation and the list goes on. Some of her major works over the last two decades in the field of animation and visual effects are, Floating Point, devil’s creek, the guardian, broken arrow, america’s sweethearts and so on. 

RELATED WORK : "THE GUARDIAN(2006)"

1. The guardian was made in the year 2006 in America. It is an action-adventure drama directed by Andrew Davis. 

2. Audri Phillips has contributed in this movie as a 3d animator and modeller. 

3. This work is related to the field as it includes both 3d animation and VFX.

II. GLEN KEANE

Glen Keane was a character animator. He worked at Walt Disney Studios for various feature films. He is also an author and illustrator. His inspiration in the field was his father who was a cartoonist.He graduated from California school of arts. His major animation works include, The Rescuers, Pete's Dragon, The Black Cauldron where he worked as a charcter animator and The Great Mouse Detective, Beauty and the beast and aladdin where he worked as a supervising animator.

RELATED WORK : "THE RESCUERS"

1. The Rescuers was an American adventure film produced by Walt Disney Productions and its distributors were buena Vista. The animated film is based on a series of books by Margery Sharp. 

2. The film is about a rescue aid society run by mice. Two of these mice in this society, namely Jittery and Miss Bianca set out to rescue Penny, an Orphan girl who was a prisoner.

3. Most of the animation done in this film was done with black outlines and cel animation.

4. This work is important to the field as it was created when computers and technology were not much explored and traditional means of animation have been used to create a beautiful piece of art.

III. BAO(2018)
Bao is an animated short movie released in 2018. It was written and directed by Domee Shi and produced by Pixar Animation Studios. 

1. This film is about a mother who suffers from empty nest syndrome. She eventually overcomes her difficulties and regains joy when she makes a steamed bun come to life. 

2. This film deals with more of emotions and is very touching and succeeds in establishing an engagement with the viewer.
