Week 10

My original plan for week 10 was to finish editing the water droplets vignette and its sound, work on the seaweed creature rig, and complete one-shot with the rig. In the meantime, finishing all the water droplets animation and adjustment after feedback session. However, I didn’t realise how much workload I set for myself.

In week 10, I only managed to complete the last shot of the water droplets, post it for feedback, and adjust all of my three shots. I also did some editing of the three shots together and add sound effects and background music to it. Before doing the editing, I did the texturing, lighting and test composition with the three shots. Meanwhile, I created the character rig for the seaweed creature.

The video uploaded is the animation vignette I created (playblast version). I hope to get some feedback for the editing and some advice for sound design.

As for the plan of week 11, I will need to consult with Kate before finalising anything because my original plan was not working smoothly. Nevertheless, I’ll stop doing character rigging as all the characters I initially planned for were done.

Update (19/05/2020)

I’ll continue doing editing and sound for the water droplet animation vignette this week. I aim to complete it and start rendering by the start of next week to have enough time to review my shots. I’ll also be improving my animation in each shot until they are without noticeable flaws. I’ll keep on posting on Magi site and the 2D animation club Facebook group to get feedback and improve my editing. If I manage to work according to my plan, I’ll be able to do short animation vignettes (approximately 4~6 seconds) using my seaweed creature or the fish creature next week. For those shots though, I’ll be focusing on the movement of the character. Anyway, those information will be in the post at the end of this week.
