ADP Week1-Play and Self

Theme: In response to the theme of play and self, I painted on some eggs and made a short animation based on it. It can be seen as a story with plot, or just a collection of my emotions: the fragments that flash when I stare at myself, all confusion, madness and anger under the influence of ideological impact and cultural symbols

Context: In fact, my inspiration came from my little nephew's kindergarten homework. When I saw him draw his homework on some eggs, I quickly recalled a song from the famous Chinese rock singer Cui Jian (my father's favorite) - balls under the red flag. That song came from more than 20 years ago and expressed the impatient and restless state of their generation in the face of China's sudden opening up.
Nearly 30 years later, I don't know the feelings of other peers, but I still often feel at a loss, the conflict between the ideals brought by socialist education and what I have observed in real society, and the feeling of being torn apart by different ideologies.
So I joined my little nephew, and tried to record myself on the eggs. When I finished more and more eggs, a story about myself gradually emerged.

Method:
1.Draw on some eggs to metaphorize me under different ideological or cultural symbols(correspond to 'play')
2. Record the ideas in my mind and complete a rough storyboard(correspond to 'self')
3. Shoot, and complete the video
4. Edit, and add appropriate music to each metaphor

Reflection:Although my editing skills are terrible, I'm glad it roughly expresses what I want to express.
I regard my 'hand' as an important imagery corresponding to 'egg', which is not only to correspond to 'play', but also to separate my perspective from myself and play the role of an invisible manipulator. I believe this will bring a sense of absurdity, because it is an imagination, and we will never experience it in real life.
