ADP Week 9

Theme: Play and Nature

Context: With the current events and what’s been going on in Gaza, I felt like this poem by Noor Hindi (https://www.poetryfoundation.org/poetrymagazine/poems/154658/fuck-your-lecture-on-craft-my-people-are-dying)expressed how I felt. Rocks have long been a symbol of resistance and resilience, so I used them to create a mural of the daisies the poet talks about. Another work I was inspired by was Destroyed House by Marjan Teeuwan (https://ocula.com/artists/marjan-teeuwen/) where she visits demolished houses either under the influence of war or natural disasters and rearranges the fragments in painstakingly detailed installations, set within the original structures.

Method: I used rocks to create a mural.
