Theme:
Forces

Method
I started drawing on a paper a few ideas to play around, then I used physical material to make short videos of the candle.

For this exercise, I wanted to work with fire, first I thought about a short video of the same candle but with different types of music, to see how our perception of the same object could change depending on the sounds that we are listening. https://youtu.be/mVTVXMwKK40
But I didn't get the response I was hoping, and I believe that is because I didn't have the mediums to make a good documentary about it. For example, I don't have a tripod (yet), so for the angle that I was needing I carry the camera and of course that wasn't going to make easy to keep exactly the same angle and distance, in addition, it wasn't going to be easy to add the external forces :s

So I changed the candle and decided to explore the light, the textures, and the shadows, with the own light of the candle, without it, and with external lights too. I was trying to see if the reflection of the water and the texture of the painting inside the recipient, had any effect with the light changes, I think it's easy to see how much the atmosphere worms up with the addition of this yellow candles lights.

As a last experiment, I located the camera in a way that I didn't need to carry it, and this way was easier to play with forces.
I deleted the audio becuase of a police car siren, and because of the time, I couldn't add others. https://youtu.be/fMNCqZA1ZVE

Context
When I was doing certification of Art Direction in Argentina, I remember that a teacher showed to us an art installation of the representation of fire with textil and fans all around them, from the artist Daniel Wurtzel. http://dailyawesomeness.com/dancing-fabric/
You can feel how the movement of the textil and the music show's this beautiful dance that involves you in your personal melancholic story.

Reflection
The pictures and the videos weren’t the best, but I found very interesting to see how even just one external object or moment can change so much an object.
In general, in any of the experiments I got what I was looking for, but I believe that it was because of the lack of time to explore more.
It’s amazing to see how one object can change so much depending on the external factors around it, specially with powerful elements like light and air.
