In response to the theme of object oriented ontology I created two little games, one for plants made in Unity, and another for candlesticks made using corkboard and markers. Each game is designed specifically for its object, taking into account the ways in which the object can perceive or interact.

To design interfaces that were accessible to these specific objects, I had to first consider the objects perspective and experience of interfacing with the world. By engaging in this design process I was able to explore the relationship of the objects to the world around them while also interrogating typical, human-orientated interfaces.

My work is inspired by a performance reading by Carly Stone and Lujayn Hourani (https://youtu.be/u3-RtBz6Jh0?t=293). Similar work has been produced by Nicole He (https://nicole.pizza/) with 'True Love Tinder Robot' that adapts a Tinder interface so that it can be used by an AI. I am also inspired by UnearthU by Kara Stone (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OJZ2Z8pJ4hk) that interrogates the typical development pipeline by exclusively using recycled assets, a unique process that mirrors the environmental themes of the game.
