Master Of Animation, Games & Interactivity

On the 26th of May, myself and some other Magi student spend our Saturday at ACMI X helping mentor writers and filmmakers on the basics of setting up a virtual reality scene and how to use it to explain a simple story.

I worked with a small group to help them create a basic scene that tried to explain how it feels to suffer from social anxiety.

Using premade models I helped set up the scene and showed the group how to navigate the interface, as well as collecting sound bites from the internt to put into the environment.

It was a very rewarding experience, where I bonded with a fellow vr enthusiast who is also interested in how vr environments can be used to create emotions. We discussed our ideas and how we both have a similar view of how vr could be a great step in helping those with mental health issues.

Overall it was a very exciting experience and I would love to work more with VRTOV in the future.
