CONTEXT:

The topic for this week was somewhat complex in nature, asking us to look at the world around us as if each object had the same level of cognitive clarity somewhat.

It's honesty a complex topic to put in to works however I found myself understating it on a surface level quite quickly.

For a work I found that may connect to this large topic, I found myself drawn to the work of artists Jasmin Lai, who, while may not venture her work around a philosophical objective, does focus her art on environmental design and character. She find a way to put an unimaginable amount of personality into her artworks, presenting landscapes as if they are characters themselves.

PRODUCTION:

In response to this weeks topic, I produced a number of variant artworks featuring the same focal point, a train seat car from the Melbourne PTV.

The reason I chose this object as the main subject of this weeks task was because of how it helped me immediately engage with the topic. What is a train seat without a passenger? What is a train seat without a train? I focused on these questions as I produced these artworks. Placing the subject in a number of different stylised environments.
