Master Of Animation, Games & Interactivity

The third week was an investigation into the environment background of the animation, and I used the Short Scenes tool.

Before expressing my content, I need to design my screen content. For example, the art style design and colour design. So, the Short scenes are like a tool to assist me, they can record the images that are generated in my mind. In order to help my brain to generate more reasonable images, before I start painting the scenes, I will first investigate many culturally related products that existed in human history. At the same time, I will think about why people produced such buildings or objects at that time. After the thinking process, I will apply this historical logic to my own designs. I would ask myself, what kind of buildings and objects would they make, in my setting world? After going through such a design process, the design results will become more acceptable. On the other hand, Short Scenes can also help me connect the design of subsequent storyboards or Story thumbnails.

Overall reflection:

I started by designing some symbols related to the setting of the story, and through these symbols, I came up with some scenes. For example, there are some carvings on the ancient stone walls under the scorching sun, and in the shadows, the environment is extraordinarily cool and airy. I created the stone temple scene from this after observing some ancient temple ruins. Another scene is at night, I thought of the mysterious symbol associated with magic, I hope to show the general appearance of the Star Bridge in the scene, it is a bridge full of magic. In the first design, I drew the star bridge too flat and very wide. It felt like an artificial creation to me, and it didn't quite meet my expectations. I hope that Star Bridge is a natural formation. He contains the power that is beyond the reach of human beings, and people just happen to be able to use Star Bridge. So I increased the brokenness of the star bridge, and made the star bridge twist, no longer a flat deck.
