In response to the theme of Tinkering, I made a short cinematic in Unreal Engine 5 with Quixel Bridge for some experimental practice. This is a simple scenery cinematic in realistic art style with smooth camera motion and gentle light movement. The light is the focal point which embeds into the scene with the high contrast of the surrounding environment.
By creating a short version of realistic cinematic, I show the variety of attributes of game engines nowadays. Not only some of the game engines nowadays can create extremely great cross-specialty products in many fields, but the knowledge in game design can be used in a variety of situations and the design language still works well.
Similar work has been produced by Sava Zivkovic, whose work Irradiation explores this theme by continuously improving the workflow of tinker and polishing the 3d workflow. They innovatively used the game engine to create cinema levels CGI.
